Raising Bilingual Kids

This month started out kind of tough. We had to quarantine for the first week, but we are back being out and about. The kids are more wild than ever.  Ethan is showing more personality and has become unruly =/ 🤔 His teachers have noticed this as well. They said it could be that's how Ethan is showing individiduality - what a way to do so, huh? One of the things he does is spitting on everything and anyone, they redirect him to spit in the sink, I just tell him it is bad and it doesn't look nice, he just laughs at me. He also likes pushing and playing rough, maybe he gets this from his papi - definitely not from me. In sum, HE'S WILD!!! He's speaking a lot more, and is showing preference for Spanish, just like big brother.  Evan is speaking a ot more clearly 🙄 and is coming up with amazing linguistic innovations such as combining fast + rápido, giving birth to "fastido." Another phrase he says is "Muto big grande" wich means very big.  ...

So, today we were informed that Evan was in direct 🤔 contact with a kid who tested positive for Coviid 19 on Friday. Today is Monday, and we were told that the kids can come back next Tuesday. I'm only bummed out since I started my Insanity program TODAY. OH WELL =/ I will have to manage the workouts somehow. Today Evan was playing inside, riding his toy in the house. He said he wanted to go "fastido" which means fast. This is interesting since he com bine "fast" and "rapido" giving birth to a beautiful spanlish word. We also calles tia Sarina, and he has given his cousin, Sebastián, a nickname  - "Tian" When he was talking to him, he looked atm3 and said , "gusta Tian" meaning that he Iiked that name instead of his real one. 😉  Link to riding fast
